Acacia and Weaver Birds

The acacia tree is prevalent all over Africa with many different verities supporting the ecosystem. This picture of an Acacia Tree hosting multiple Weaver Bird nests is from the Ngorongoro Crater floor, sited during one of our first game drives. We’ve seen many of the colorful weaver birds flying around, but never at a point where our driver was stopped long enough for me to snap a photo…if I get one, I’ll update the post.

  1. They make furniture out of the wood of the acacia tree. I wondered what those things were hanging out of it. Cool!
