Last night we had a bit of a scare as our furnace conked out with temps headed for the single digits. With a flashlight I crawled around and found a technician troubleshooting chart that helped me figure out that it was a sooted/gummed up flame sensor. A little bit of contortion with some steel wool and we’re back to cozy indoor temps. Why does this crap always happen when the temps are extreme and it’s a holiday weekend! Murphy you bastard!

Sooooo… lesson to you…. do your furnace and AC maintenance before you actually need them!
