Received summons for jury duty a month ago. Called in last night as directed hoping I would be excused due to lack of need, but no such luck. Will now need to fall back on plan B, which is that I watch crime shows all the time on TV and so I KNOW the law. Hopefully what will scare counsel away from actually putting me on a trial and I will be done with duty by the end of the day. The average trial length for this court is two days, so I definitely do NOT want that.

On the plus side, the Jury Waiting Room is very nice and since I arrived early, I was able to snag on of the limited number of workstations complete with comfortable chairs, power plugs and a nice desk area… well work giving up a few minutes of sleep given I will be here all day and the alternative is the equivalent of airport terminal seating. Another plus is that the wifi is strong; which, will make getting stuff done a lot easier than depending on 5G.
