One of the items I bought for the trip that was working extremely well was this “sand bag” that I had filled with my fleece and an extra shirt since I couldn’t get any sand, rice or beans.

The safari Land Cruisers seat 6 people who are very excited and jump around constantly causing the whole vehicle to bounce. This “sand bag” helped a ton when shooting at 600mm.

Unfortunately I forgot to attach it via strap to the rail after shooting some lions and our driver cranked it up to 80+ kph, causing it to bow overboard somewhere.

I am now going to have to improvise something out of dirty laundry and some dry bags I have.
